The Rotary Club of Conifer is a volunteer service organization that identifies and supports causes which improve the quality of life for fellow humans and their environments locally and internationally. We are one of more than 32,000 clubs world-wide that make up Rotary International.

Our purpose is to invite business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, to encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to help build goodwill and peace throughout the world.

Park Co Commissioner Broadband Availability Kickoff Meeting
Quote:
Park Co Commissioner Mike Brazell: http://www.parkco.us/index.aspx?NID=510
I am leading a kick off meeting on Tuesday June 11 at 10 am at the Fairplay Community Center focused on County wide Broadband improvement/development. All the current providers have been invited to participate as well as the school boards and anyone interested in participating is welcome to attend. A broadband survey has gone out to every registered business in the county as this is the first step in identifying to the providers the potential return on investment they could realize. An online survey for residential customers is available at http://www.parkco.us/parkcountyconnect and I encourage everyone interested in improvement in this infrastructure to take it.

Broadband is a key part of a community’s infrastructure and is now viewed like water, sewer and electricity. It affects the entire community on many different levels and is the number one question realtors are asked from prospective buyers. Economic development is impacted on our local business to compete globally, employees to telecommute, children and adults benefit from education and seniors are utilizing it to communicate to their families. Currently 30% of our community cannot connect if they chose too and average speeds are slower than required. Broadband is currently defined as 4mb or the equivalent of watching Netflix without buffering.

Community News, Events, and Calendar • Bailey Day Planning - Request for Volunteers

Wed, 06/05/2013 - 3:18pm
Bailey Day is just around the corner-- just a little over a week away!
This year, the theme for Bailey Day is the Olde West. We encourage EVERYONE to dress up in Old West themed dress for the Friday night dinner and Bailey Day on Sat, June 15th.

Tomorrow, Thurs, June 6, there is an Open Volunteer Meeting, which means anyone interested in volunteering at this year's Bailey Day can show up anytime between 5 and 8pm at Aspen Peak Cellars (downtown Bailey) and we will assign you a duty to help out with at Bailey Day.
The more volunteers we have, the smoother the Friday night dinner and Bailey Day will go, so please consider donating a few of your hours to help out! We appreciate it so much!

This year at Bailey Day, we will be having a "olde time" photo booth at the Bailey Country Store.

We have some outfits for people to wear for the photos, but could use more.
We are asking anyone that has any Olde West or Mountain Man Props or costumes that we can loan from you, or that you'd like to donate, to please reply to this email and let me (Heather) know.

Examples of items we are looking for include:
-Men's wear - plaid shirts, etc.
-Women's attire (long dresses, Saloon Girl dreses & bonnets)
-Coyboy Hats
-Chaps
-Spurs / Boots
-Ropes
-FAKE guns & holsters (or guns that shoot blanks)
-Wagon Wheel(s)
-ANY OTHER OLDE WEST OR MOUNTAIN MAN ITEMS

Also, we are looking for live auction items to be donated to the Chamber that we can auction off at Bailey Day.
If you have anything that you'd like to donate to the Bailey Day auction, please reply to this email and let Heather know.
We appreciate it!!

Bailey HUNDO Information

If any of the Bailey businesses want to put goodies or brochures in racer bags, we need to have them before June 12th. You may bring items to be stuffed in the bags to the General Chamber Meeting on Tues, June 11 or drop off at the Rustic Station.

Thanks and hope this message finds you well!
